🔹 How is the Giesler GLYDE different from other paddleboards?

Each Giesler GLYDE is handcrafted from 100% Canadian cedar—no foam, no plastic, no mass production. It’s built like a boat, not a board. Made in Ontario by the fourth generation of Giesler boatbuilders, each board is individually named and never repeated. It’s not one of many. It’s 1 of 1.

🔹 What does “1 of 1” mean?

It means your board is truly one of a kind. Each GLYDE in the Breakwater 25 collection has its own name and serial number, and will never be duplicated. Once it’s gone, it’s gone—for good.

🔹 How long does it take to make a board?

Each Giesler GLYDE takes over 60 hours of hands-on craftsmanship—from cutting and shaping the cedar to sealing it in epoxy and varnish. Every detail is done by human hands, not machines.

🔹 What materials are used?

We use Ontario white cedar for the internal skeleton (center spine and ribs) and British Columbia red cedar for the exterior planking. Fasteners are marine-grade brass. Each board is sealed with epoxy resin and UV-protective varnish.

🔹 Where are the boards made?

Every GLYDE is built in Powassan, Ontario, where Giesler Boats have been crafted since 1921.

🔹 Are the boards really eco-friendly?

Yes. Unlike mass-produced boards made with foam cores and plastic shells, Giesler GLYDE boards are made entirely from renewable cedar and built to last a lifetime. No wasteful molds. No overseas shipping. No disposable materials.

🔹 Can I customize my board?

Each board in the Breakwater collection comes with a unique name and “1 of 1” designation. Additional customization options (like a nameplate engraving) may be available upon request, but the shape, size, and design integrity remain consistent to preserve the collection's exclusivity. We are open to suggestions and if possible we will work to further personalization of your board. Contact us and we can discuss!

🔹 How much does a Giesler GLYDE cost?

$6,750 CAD. Over 60 hours of human craftsmanship goes into every board. The cedar logs come into Giesler Boats uncut. Starting from this raw material, cutting begins into planks of different sizes to create the inner shell and outside planking. All wood pieces are shaped and sanded. Planking is nailed to the inner core by a human and a hammer. No nail guns!

🔹 Is shipping included?

We ship anywhere in the world. Shipping is not included in the base price. We will deliver within 200 km of Powassan for $400. If you live further away, phone before you order so we can get you an accurate shipping rate. We offer custom packaging and secure delivery for each board. You are welcome to pick up your board at the Giesler Boat Shop in Powassan, Ontario to save on shipping costs.

🔹 Does the GLYDE come with a paddle?

No—intentionally. Paddle preference is highly personal and depends on your body size, paddling style, and performance goals. Rather than include a generic paddle, we’ve chosen to let each rider select the perfect paddle for their needs.

This also avoids unnecessary cost and waste, and allows you to pair your 1 of 1 GLYDE with gear that truly suits you.

🔹 How do I order one?

Orders for the Breakwater 25 collection are now open. Once a board is claimed, it’s marked as sold and retired from the collection. Order your board here.

🔹 Will more boards be available after the Breakwater 25?

Yes—but never the same ones. Future releases will come in 2026 in small, exclusive drops, each with its own identity. The Breakwater 25 is the first and only collection of its kind
